Northeast Aquatic Nuisance Species Council renews contract with naturesource communications
The Council was founded
as a nonprofit corporation in New Hampshire and serves a constituency from
the six New England states, New York, Québec, and the Atlantic Provinces.
Michele serves as a director to the board of the Council and Program Manager for the Northeast Aquatic Nuisance Species Panel.

named "Aspiring Leader"
The NH Department of Environmental
Services (DES) accepted naturesource communications into the Aspiring
Leaders program of the NH Environmental Leadership Initiative. The
goals for naturesource communications focused on environmental practices
for planning and executing meetings and events. According to Thomas S.
Burack, Commissioner, DES, naturesource communications's goals were "above
and beyond the minimum legal requirements of the program." The Department
has asked naturesource communications to work with them to use those goals

activities through June 2008. A large focus of the year will be internal
policy development including finalizing and implementing the Council's
2007-2011 Action Plan.

for volunteerism during Boscawen Old Home Day celebrations this week. The
Award is given to a person who illustrates in living the kind of selfless
devotion to others that Helen Kimball Houston (1904-2004) personified through
her long and busy life. "It is an honor to be thought of for this award."
said Tremblay. "I knew and respected Helen so much for all that she did
and all that she knew. I can only hope to one day come close to her accomplishments."
Michele was given the honor of riding in the Old Home Day parade on August
26.

with the Sunapee Area Watershed Coalition. The
Sunapee Area Watershed Coalition (SAWC) is conducting a watershed planning
process as well as outreach activities and water quality investigations.
Michele is helping the SAWC refine and document its organizational structure,
decision-making policies, and procedures and prepare it for an intensive
watershed planning process.

and Highland Lakes Watershed Partnership. naturesource
communications is working with VHB and Hutchins Consulting Services to
facilitate a stakeholder process and draft a watershed management plan
that will provide guidance for future land use and local regulatory processes.
The plan is slated for completion in the fall of 2006.

the NH State Conservation Committee. The
State Conservation Committee celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
It was founded in 1946 to provide guidance, assistance, and oversight to
the state's County Conservation Districts and as a forum to foster communication,
cooperation, and collaboration among the other state agencies involved
in natural resource management.
